The World Bank Group, African Development Bank (AfDB), African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Islamic Development Bank (IsdB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), five of Africa’s leading development institutions, will attend the 6th Brazil Africa Forum: youth empowerment – transformation to achieve sustainable development. The event is going to be held on November 22 and 23 in Salvador, Bahia Brazil. It will bring together representatives of governments, private investors and academics from around the world.

With a strong presence in the agricultural sectors of Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, The World Bank will attend the Forum with a focus on investments in global practices to eradicate poverty and promote economic development. Business opportunities between Brazil and the African continent will also be highlighted. Created in 1944, The World Bank is headquartered in Washington, US, employing more than 10,000 employees in 120 offices around the world.

Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is the leading pan-African multilateral financial institution dedicated to the financing and promotion of intra and extra-African trade. Since 1964, the African Development Bank (AfDB) promotes Africa’s economic and social development. Of the 54 African countries, 53 are members of the institution, which works towards inclusive growth, with more job creation, equal treatment and opportunities and eradication of poverty. AfDB’s participation in the Forum will be central to the discussions on youth empowerment and training.

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) will be represented through the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD). Established by the Bank’s summit in 2007, the ISFD has approved $ 10 billion in capital to eradicate poverty, illiteracy, disease and epidemics. At the 6th Brazil Africa Forum, ISFD will enrich the analysis of the importance of high-level partnerships for the execution of development projects.
