23 de novembro de 2018 0
Globally, it is perceived that youth empowerment is critical to achieving growth and development and therefore exist the necessity for discussion on the involvement of national governments, regional entities and international organizations to identify how development actors can translate and respond development challenges in their communities.
There is a strong new impetus to include and promote youth participation in a wide range of policy and development dialogues and initiatives to ensure that youth perspectives are addressed in these processes and taken into account for their implementation.

WHY SALVADOR?
Capital of the State of Bahia, Salvador is the most representative city of the African continent in Brazil. About 80% of its the population is Afro-descendant.
Several manifestations of African cultural traits can be observed in Bahian culture, such as popular music, gastronomy, folklore and popular festivals.
With the arrival of the Portuguese in 1501, the city was called “Bahia de Todos os Santos”. In 1549, it became the capital of Brazil.
Today, with about 3 million inhabitants, Salvador offers a complete infrastructure for leisure and business.
Deville Prime Salvador Hotel
The 6th Brazil Africa Forum will be held at the Deville Prime Salvador Hotel, located in Itapuã, one of the most famous beaches in the city, just 10 minutes from Salvador International Airport.

GO TO LOGISTICSThe Brazil Africa connection will only effectively happen, when Afro-descendants, who have entered universities and want to do trade with Africa, are heard and taken into consideration in debates like this.
Paulo Rogério Nunes
CEO of Vale do DendêWe are not going to be able to overcome the gulf in development if we do not have the young people on the supply side, using everything they know in technological terms. This technological issue creates a bridge that transforms the Atlantic into a stream
Maurício Cysne
Director of External Relations at UnitaidThe great challenge is the sustainability and continuity of the programs. A river is a good metaphor for the Atlantic Ocean and it is these bridges that we should seek to build in an event like this,
Nísia Trindade
President of the Oswaldo Cruz FoundationDo not we have the technology to fight hunger in the world? What we need is the political commitment to do this. The world spends a trillion and a half on military issues and, to end hunger, we use only 1% of that expenditure. This is a shame. We should invest money in technology to support smallholder farmers and small producers
Daniel Balaban
Director of the Centre for Excellence against HungerYouth employment and opportunity is very important because it can be a way of maintaining the biodiversity in rural areas. Technology questions is very important because the youth would like to have a new role. They would like to work with the technology
Claus Reiner
Country Director of IFADThe focus that we put on South-south trade makes us look into the Brazilian model. The challenge is not the lack of money, but entrepreneurship and management skills. We would like to see Brazil coming to the continent with as much boldness as India came. Brazil could do the same as India and China.
George Elombi
Executive Vice President of Governance, Legal and Corporate Services of AfreximbankThis Forum is an expression for South-South Cooperations. This cooperation started to avoid the repetition of the great depression. This cooperation was driven by the principles of equality, non-interference policies and self-reliance between Souther countries.
Jorge Chediek
Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for South-South CooperationIt is important that we create opportunities for the youth to participate in the nation building and actively participate in the governance of their society. We have to combat injustice between women and males. It is my expectation that this forum will encompass the SDGs and the African Union's agenda 2063.
Abena Busia
Ambassador from Ghana to Brazil
