Otaviano Canuto | Former Vice-President and Executive Director at the World Bank Group
Former vice-president and executive director at the World Bank, executive director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and vice-president at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He has also served as deputy minister of international affairs in Brazil’s Ministry of Finance and professor of economics at the University of São Paulo (USP) and the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He is currently a senior fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, formerly known as the OCP Policy Center, and a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. In addition, he is a professor at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and an affiliate professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnique University. He holds a master’s degree from Concordia University in Montreal and a doctorate from Unicamp, both in economics. He was also director of the Center for Macroeconomics and Development and a non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution.
