Maria Beatriz Bley Martins Costa | CEO of Green Rio
A Brazilian businesswoman from Rio de Janeiro, she is a partner and president of GREEN RIO/GREEN LATIN AMERICA, an international event on the Bioeconomy, Innovation and Circular Economy, which has been held in Rio since 2012. She was director of Planeta Orgânico and coordinated the BIOFACH fair in Brazil from 2003 to 2010. From 2013 to 2017, she worked as a consultant on the SEBRAE Structuring Project “Forest-Based Cosmetics from the Amazon”. She has been a speaker at the German-Brazilian Economic Meeting since 2014 and was invited by the German government to the Bioeconomy Mission in 2015. In 2017, she started the German-Brazilian Bioeconomy Workshop during Green Rio, promoting partnerships between authorities and researchers from both countries. He received the Tiradentes Medal in 2019 for services to public causes and has organized events on sustainability and the bioeconomy in Brazil, South America, Germany, France and the USA. He is a member of CEAL – Council of Entrepreneurs of Latin America and is coordinating the formatting of the I Blue Economy RIO Summit, which will take place during Green Rio 2024, recognized as the RIO Capital Initiative of the G20.
