Mr. Gilberto DF António is the Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). He previously served at the Permanent Mission of Angola to the World Trade Organization (WTO), focusing on multilateral trade negotiations and regional integration for the African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) States. António has consulted for the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA) and taught Statistics at the Geneva Business School. He holds degrees in Political Science and Economics from the University of Geneva and Statistics from the University of Neuchâtel, along with certificates in Trade, Investment, and Diplomacy. His research centers on international trade and investment, and he has authored six books and several articles. He is currently coordinating a project on economic diversification, leading to the publication of “Commercial Diplomacy” and “Business Internationalisation: Promotion Policies and Tools” in 2021.
