Eduardo Castro – Journalist at BAND Network Group
With a degree in journalism from Facasper/SP (1996), Eduardo Castro specialized in documentaries and long-form reporting through courses at Voice of America (VOA) and NPR, along with internships at CNN and the BBC. He began his career in 1995 at Grupo Bandeirantes, taking on various roles including reporter, producer, editor, anchor, and eventually, director of journalism. He served as a correspondent for CNN Radio and VOA in both Brasília and Washington. In 2007, he advised Minister Franklin Martins at Secom, playing a key role in shaping Brazil’s public communication law. From 2008 to 2010, he worked at Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) as the executive journalism manager. In 2010, he became a consultant for TV Miramar in Mozambique and also served as an EBC correspondent in the region. By 2011, he was appointed director general of EBC. Throughout his career, Castro has reported on significant events such as the September 11 attacks, U.S. and Brazilian elections, the funeral of Pope John Paul II, major sports events like the World Cup and the Olympics, and presidential trips to Arab nations and China.
