A public health attorney and specialist in Public Management and Health Law, he has extensive experience within the Ministry of Health, the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (EBSERH), and state and municipal public agencies. He is a member of the State Health Council of Bahia, Vice President of the Institute for Applied Health Law (IDISA), and advisor to the “SUS+Justiça” project, recognized with an award by the National Council of Justice (CNJ). Currently, he serves as Director of the Fifth Directorate of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).
