Oley Dibba-Wadda, Director of the Human Capital, Youth and Skills Development of the African Development Bank (AfDB) is confirmed as speaker in the 6th Brazil Africa Forum: “Youth Empowerment – Transformation to achieve sustainable development” that will be held in Salvador city, Bahia, Brazil, on November 22 and 23.

Director Dibba-Wadda will be speaking in the session “Empowering the youth voice through knowledge”.

Oley Lucretia Clara Dibba-Wadda leads AfDB’s dialogue and investments in education, skills and youth employment; health, nutrition and social protection. As a social development executive and strategic analyst with over 21 years of leadership and management experience, Dibba –Wadda has led many outstanding interventions including  mobilizing African decision makers to focus on human capital and youth development on the continent.

Before joining the AfDB, she was the Executive Secretary of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) – a pan-African Institution (hosted by the African Development Bank). Dibba-Wadda had earlier worked as the Executive Director of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), a pan-African organization for promoting the education of girls across sub-Saharan Africa. She had also worked as the Executive Director of Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) – an Africa-wide organization on women, peace and security in Africa.

In recognition of her exemplary contribution towards human development, she was awarded the “Inspiring Woman of Excellence” in 2012 and the “African Woman Leadership” in 2013. She was one of the nominees for the “2017 New African Woman in Education.”

The 6th Brazil Africa Forum: youth empowerment – transformation to achieve sustainable development – is hosted by the Brazil Africa Institute, sponsored by Afreximbank, IFAD and Standard Bank and supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), Unitaid, the Centre of Excellence against Hunger of the World Food Programme (WFP), CAMPO, Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and Aldairton Carvalho Law Firm.

About the Brazil Africa Institute

The Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF) is a non-profit organization focused on Triangular Technical Cooperation projects with an emphasis on Brazil-Africa relations. In addition to the Brazil Africa Forum, IBRAF develops projects such as the ATLANTICO magazine, the Mandela Centennial Exhibition and the Youth Technical Training Program (YTTP), which trains young Africans in Brazil.
