The Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Language Speaking Countries (CPLP), Maria do Carmo Silveira, is now a confirmed speaker at the 6th edition of Brazil Africa Forum.

Maria do Carmo Silveira holds the position at CPLP since 2016. She is a former Prime Minister and Head of Government of Sao Tome and Principe. Her expertise lies in economy, public administration, management and defense of children and women’s rights.

The Executive Secretary of CPLP is excited about the Forum, that she considers an opportunity to talk about some of the challenges that Africa faces nowadays.

The sixth edition of the Brazil Africa Forum will be held on November 22nd and 23rd in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, covering the subject Youth Empowerment: Transformation to Achieve Sustainable Development. Registration is already open.

Speakers also include José Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, former president of Timor-Leste and member of the Advisory Board of the Brazil Africa Institute. The Forum should bring together 300 representatives from governments, companies, universities and potential investors to exchange experiences and generate good opportunities for young people in Brazil and in African countries.

Brazil Africa Forum had its first edition held in 2013 and is established as one of the most relevant events in the segment. Last year, in São Paulo, the Forum gathered around 200 participants from 48 countries, who discussed issues related to technological innovations to promote sustainable development in Brazil and the African continent.
