6th Forum Brazil Africa: focus on youth

This edition of Brazil Africa Forum will be held in Salvador, Brazil, on November 22nd and 23rd, covering the subject “Youth Empowerment: transformation to achieve sustainable development”.

For the President of the Brazil Africa Institute, Professor João Bosco Monte, “as the world now has the largest generation of young people in history, we can not speak of sustainable development without the active involvement of youth. Therefore, the Forum will provide a high-level discussion on a driven initiative that seeks to increase cooperation and collaboration between Africa and Brazil in areas related to job creation, empowerment, active citizenship, digital inclusion and entrepreneurship”.

Speakers include José Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, former president of Timor-Leste and member of the Advisory Board of the Brazil Africa Institute. The Forum should bring together 300 representatives from governments, companies, universities and potential investors to exchange experiences and generate good opportunities for young people in Brazil and in African countries.

The sixth edition also will have a special parallel activity to the thematic discussions: the exhibition Mandela: from Prisoner to President, which will be seen for the first time in Brazil from May and closes in November in Salvador.

Brazil Africa Forum had its first edition held in 2013 and is established as one of the most relevant events in the segment. Last year, in São Paulo, the Forum gathered around 200 participants from 48 countries, who discussed issues related to technological innovations to promote sustainable development in Brazil and the African continent.
