Food Systems Summit highlighted in the Brazil Africa Forum 2020
The United Nations 2021 Food Systems Summit is going to be highlighted during the Brazil Africa Forum 2020 with the participation of Dr. Agnes Kalibata, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the FSS.
Committed with an agenda for proposing and defending the creation of more sustainable, resilient, and healthy food systems, the Brazil Africa Forum will promote a special session on November 4th themed “Food Systems after the pandemic: rethinking production and consumption to ensure sustainable development”.
For the General Coordinator of the Brazil Africa Forum Prof. João Bosco Monte, who was appointed last September as a Food Systems Champion, it shall be the moment to deepen the dialogues towards achieving food security and zero hunger.
“Especially in a moment of an unprecedented crisis as this one we are facing right now, Food Systems all over the world need urgent support to avoid the raisiness of hunger. We are working to strengthen this message, promoting concrete actions, supporting leaders such as the UN Special Envoy Dr. Agnes Kalibata and all the FSS network”, states Prof. Monte.
